Homemade Chocolate Coconut Sugar Scrub

peppermint bark 029Today was brought to you by CRAFTS!

I don’t really have money to buy lavish gifts… So Christmas gives me the time to shine. I know everything about nothing important so it gives me a little bit of leeway here.

I’m awesome at knowing things of zero importance in everyday life.

But I can bake/ cook, do crafts and, make art.

peppermint bark 023I made you something you put on your body/ eat… Okay maybe you shouldn’t eat it that would be a terrible out come.

But it is 100% all natural and it’s safe if you do eat it. I actually use this on my lips it makes them nice and soft it also moisturizes them and your body.

you basically a bit of the sugar scrub rub it where you want and then rinse it off and then go over the surface with soap except your lips that would be icky.

peppermint bark 027It’s super simple to make!  its coconut oil, olive oil, brown sugar and I add a little bit of coconut flakes but you don’t have too!

you really just need to get in there to stir in the coconut oil. Elbow grease.. you know the deal.

Chocolate Coconut Sugar Scrub

Yield: makes about 1 1/2 cups (will fit in 3 (4-ounce) jars)

Total Time: 10 minutes

1 cup loosely packed brown sugar

1/2 cup coconut oil (in solid form)

1/3 cup almond oil

2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

a few drops of coconut extract or essential oil

chocolate chips and coconut flakes for a garnish (optional)

Add all ingredients together in a large bowl and mix until combined. I like to mix with the back of a spoon until the coconut oil all breaks down and no chunks remaining. If desired, top the scrub with a few chocolate chips or cacao nibs before packaging.

To use the scrub, simply rub it over your skin and wash off! FYI: I do not use this on my face. I do use it on my lips though – so perfect! As long as you are using this once a week or every other, it should stay fine at room temperature.
